They traveled south along the present course of Interstate 15 to reach the Spanish Trail, which intersects I-15 at about present day Parowan, Utah but upon reaching the Beaver River about 30 miles north of Parowan, Hunt tried a route along which he had never personally traveled. They slaughtered several oxen and used the wood of their wagons to cook the meat and make. It was not certain if wagons could take the route, but some had recently headed for the trail to try, so the group found a guide by name of Jefferson Hunt who had previously traveled the route and agreed to lead them.

However it will not be ready for this years Encampment. Therefore, some of the events have been moved to other locations. The Patio Talks will be conducted on the Patio of the Borax Museum. Ted Faye will be showing videos in the evening there also. A the day, videos will be shown in the Marquez Room at the Furnace Creek Inn. We will meet the wagons and the riders when they arrive on the Date Grove Road. Due to changes at Stovepipe Wells we will not have events there this year. However, the Membership Booth will be open. For current members who will receive a program in the mail, and those who will get one at the encampment, look closely to see how some events have moved to new locations and check the membership booth for any last minute changes.
